Black & Veatch has been dealing with Environmental Compliance Issues since 1915, less than a year after the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) set standards for the bacteriological quality of drinking water. The USPHS updated those standards 3 times between 1915 and 1962, and each of the United States adopted the USPHS standards as either guidelines or as regulations for their individual public water systems.
